WE GET IT
Does this sound like you?
I feel triggered around my child’s birthday
Reminders like phone pictures and the season bring me back to how hard it was
All the feelings of grief, guilt and trauma get brought up, I don’t know how to manage them
I don’t know how to honour my feelings and celebrate my child
I feel bad for not just feeling joy and gratitude around my child’s birthday
I want to enjoy them and their special day and not be in my head
I want to feel present on the day rather than be in the past
Birthdays after NICU or trauma can be hard…
Welcoming a new baby into the world is supposed to be one of life's most precious moments. However, when a baby is born prematurely or sick it can be a challenging and traumatic experience.
What is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, can become one of the worst. Your child’s birthday is also an anniversary of a traumatic experience.
It is really common to feel stuck in knowing how to move past complicated and overwhelming feelings and towards being present and feeling joy.
How this class can help you…

Dr Frankie will walk you through practical tips & advice on how to make your child's birthday a special & meaningful occasion, despite the difficult journey you’ve been on.
A self-paced workshop, complete it on your own timeline, to fit around your busy life as a parent.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a better understanding of why you might be finding birthdays after NICU and/or birth trauma so tricky and will feel confident you have the skills and resources needed to cope with the emotional challenges around your child's birthday.

Meet Dr Frankie
Dr. Frankie Harrison is a Clinical Psychologist for Miracle Moon, supporting parents who have experienced neonatal care and/or birth trauma and mental health issues in the perinatal period.
Frankie is also a NICU parent and had her first baby at 31 weeks due to preeclampsia.
We know that birthdays can be really tricky times after neonatal care and/ or birth trauma. A time that is supposed to be the happiest, is often filled with anxiety, memories of a very difficult time, grief and sadness. We can often find ourselves being pulled back into our time in hospital and struggle with being present or enjoying our children's birthday.
At the end of this workshop, you'll come away with practical strategies and inspiration to celebrate your child's birthday in a way that honours their unique journey, your emotions, and promotes joy and presence on their special day. We hope to see you there.
